Publication Ethics
The Global Perspectives on Educational Inquiry Journal (GPEIJ) is committed to the highest standards of publication ethics. The journal follows the Core Practices and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All parties involved in publishing, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher, are expected to follow the standards below.
Duties of Editors
- Evaluate manuscripts only on their academic merit, regardless of the authors' race, gender, religion, nationality, or institution.
- Keep all information about a submitted manuscript confidential.
- Do not use unpublished material from a submitted manuscript in their own research without the authors' written consent.
- Declare any conflict of interest and step aside from handling a manuscript when one exists.
Duties of Reviewers
- Assist the editors in making decisions and help authors improve their work.
- Treat every manuscript as a confidential document and do not share or upload it to any external service, including generative AI tools.
- Give objective, clearly supported comments and point out relevant published work that has not been cited.
- Decline the review if they have a conflict of interest or cannot complete it in time.
Duties of Authors
- Submit original work that has not been published or submitted elsewhere, and cite the work of others properly.
- List as authors only those who made a significant contribution to the study.
- Disclose funding sources and any conflict of interest.
- Notify the editor promptly if they discover a significant error in their published work, and cooperate with corrections or retraction.
Use of Artificial Intelligence
Generative AI tools cannot be listed as authors. Authors who use AI tools for writing assistance must state this in the manuscript and remain fully responsible for its content. Reviewers and editors must not upload manuscripts to AI tools.
Corrections and Retractions
Errors in published articles are corrected with a published correction notice. Articles with serious misconduct or unreliable findings are retracted following the COPE retraction guidelines; the retraction notice remains linked to the original article.
Complaints and Appeals
Authors may appeal an editorial decision or raise a complaint by writing to the Editor-in-Chief through the journal's contact page. Every complaint is reviewed by the editorial board.
